Suffs is centered on the women's suffrage movement, specifically the seven years before the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920. During those years, the suffragists, or "suffs," protested in the streets and created new tactics along the way. While outwardly fighting with the public and the government to secure the right to vote, they also had to overcome racial, class, and generational divides in service of their common cause.
Leigh Silverman directs the new musical, with Raja Feather Kelly choreographing.
Suffs tickets will be available on New York Theatre Guide soon.
