A new comedy by Bryna Turner, At the Wedding, will make its world premiere with Lincoln Center Theater at the Claire Tow Theater. At the Wedding tickets are available on New York Theatre Guide.
In the At the Wedding play, the wedding in question is that of Carlo's ex-girlfriend, who is marrying a man. Carlo, a lonely single woman, crashes the wedding. A witty woman, she converses and flirts her way through the celebration, running into old lovers and enemies, friends and strangers. As she does so, Carlo explores how permanent heartbreak really is. Jenna Worsham directs the At the Wedding Off-Broadway premiere.
At the Wedding was developed at the American Conservatory Theater and Arkansas New Play Festival, and it received an honorable mention on the 2019 Kilroy’s List, which recognizes outstanding plays by non-male writers. At the Wedding marks playwright Bryna Turner’s second production with Lincoln Center Theater. The company produced her play Bull in a China Shop in 2017, which marked her professional playwriting debut. That show, like At the Wedding, was mounted by the LCT3 program, which showcases work by emerging writers. Turner’s other plays include RATS! and How to Separate Your Soul from your Body (in ten easy steps!).
Tickets to At the Wedding are available now.
