Infinite Life is a play about wanting, aging, and how to reconcile the two. Five women philosophize atop chaise lounges, discussing desire and how to act on and satisfy it within a failing body.

Baker is best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Flick, another comedy about the meaningful insights that arise from ordinary conversations and situations. That show centered on three workers at a movie theatre, and it won Obie and Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards in addition to the Pulitzer. Baker's other plays include Circle Mirror Transformation and The Aliens, which shared the 2010 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

James Macdonald directs Infinite Life in New York. He has worked in the theatre for more than 30 years, staging acclaimed plays in both the U.S. and London. He previously directed Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation and John, and some of his other notable credits include the U.S. premieres of Mike Bartlett's Cock and Caryl Churchill's A Number, an adaptation of King Lear at The Public Theater, and a revival of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? in London.
