Lincoln Center Theater presents the world-premiere play Let's Call Her Patty featuring Cheers star Rhea Perlman, Beetlejuice the Musical's Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer, and Arielle Goldman. Check back for information on Let's Call Her Patty tickets on New York Theatre Guide.
Let's Call Her Patty is a play in which the title character (Perlman) maintains a carefully constructed, comfortable life on the Upper West Side with lots of self-imposed rules and few challenges. That is, until her daughter turns to cocaine to cope with her sudden success in sculpting. Patty must, with the help of her niece Sammy (Kritzer), step outside her comfort zone to help and take on challenges she never imagined having as a mother.
Perlman is best known for her four-time Emmy-winning role as Carla Tortelli on Cheers, which earned her an additional six Emmy nominations and a record seven Golden Globe nominations. Kritzer is known for roles in Broadway shows like Beetlejuice, Legally Blonde, Elf, and A Catered Affair, and Goldman has appeared on TV shows including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Knick.
Brooklyn-based playwright Zarina Shea makes her Off-Broadway debut with Let's Call Her Patty in New York. She collaborates with veteran Off-Broadway director Margot Bordelon, who's staged acclaimed productions at Roundabout Theatre Company, Primary Stages, Playwrights Horizons, Atlantic Theater Company, and more. Bordelon made her Lincoln Center Theater debut in 2018 directing Plot Points in Our Sexual Development.
This production of Let's Call Her Patty off Broadway is part of the LCT3 program, which is dedicated to producing new works by emerging playwrights. These works all go up in the Claire Tow Theater, LCT's smallest performance space which shares a building with the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Broadway and the Off-Broadway Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.
