Now, this trio of theatre royalty is bringing this new musical, and Tammy’s luxurious lashes, to the Big Apple. Get Tammy Faye tickets now.
Illustrating Tammy Faye’s breathtaking rise to fame, this new musical spans decades in the life of the Christian television personality, from humble beginnings as a puppet show host in the 1960s through 14 seasons of The PTL Club into the 1980s. Along the way, financial scandals, religious hypocrisy, and romantic woes all lead to the rising star’s eventual demise. Despite those setbacks, nothing could squash fans and followers’ ardent love for one of television’s most influential figures.
See Tammy Faye on Broadway and experience a critical success: London Theatre’s four-star review calls the play “a heavenly pleasure” and “gloriously, ecstatically camp.” The show also earned a four-star review from Time Out London and is, per The New York Times, “spectacular entertainment.”
Rupert Goold, a two-time Tony Award nominee for Best Director, stages Tammy Faye, which features a book by Tony nominee James Graham. EGOT winner Elton John has had many Broadway successes, including Aida, The Lion King, and Billy Elliot the Musical, and now he pairs up with another great, Jake Shears, who starred in Kinky Boots, to make the one and only Tammy Faye sing and soar.
