Get Bowl EP tickets on New York Theatre Guide and see this new play with live skating, rapping, and more. Bowl EP plays off Broadway this spring for a strictly limited engagement at the Vineyard Theatre. Nazareth Hassan’s premiere follows two rappers on the hunt for their musical duo name — and a life of fulfillment.
Skateboarding and rapping don’t often come together in a single play, which is why audiences should head to the must-see Bowl EP off Broadway. This new play is a unique theatrical force, both intimate and epic and a singular experience.
In Bowl EP, Kelly K Klarkson and Quentavius da Quitter need to find a name for their rap group. They overshare their feelings (it’s cringy), flirt on and off (it’s steamy), and practice their ollies (they’re getting there). All the while — as they skate and smoke, skate and drink, skate and exorcise a demon — they get closer and closer, to each other, and, maybe, finding a group name for their rapping duo.
Bowl EP is both a theatrical feat and a skate park where two souls come together to connect in the middle of a wasteland, and on the edge of a galaxy.
Hassan is a 2024-2025 Tow Foundation Artist-in-Residence at Vineyard Theatre, and he both writes and directs this new play. Bowl Ep is a co-production with National Black Theatre and produced in association with The New Group.
Hassan is also a poet, which lends their work a lyrical quality. After performances at The Shed and around New York, they now come to the Vineyard with a spellbinding show. For audiences seeking a compelling story and an audacious work with elements not often seen on stage, this is a production not to miss.
