This exciting Salsa musical is set in the 1970s, New York City is on the verge of bankruptcy; the crime, drugs and graffiti rule the streets; and a group of individuals turn protest into a force for social justice.
Roberto Rodriguez owns a record store in Spanish Harlem ("El Barrio"), where he lives with his wife, and their four children. There is no shortage of drama in the Rodriguez family. The eldest son Juan comes home from jail, the eldest daughter China joins the Young Lords Party, Carlos their youngest son is law school bound and the baby of the family Paula is free-spirited as ever. Despite it all, they rest on the foundation of family and the indestructible determination to succeed.
