Tickets are on sale now for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Broadway.
Come and feel the earth move on the Great White Way with the smash hit jukebox musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which tells the story of the much-loved singer-songwriter's rise to fame, charting the trials and tribulations of both her professional and personal lives. The Broadway production began previews at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on November 21, 2013, and officially opened on January 12, 2014.
Winning the Grammy in 2015 for "Best Musical Theater Album" is a true testament to the love for and longevity of Ms. King's back catalogue, which features such highly-praised standards as "You've Got a Friend", "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", "It's Too Late", and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman". Her legendary album "Tapestry", which was released in 1971, sold more than 10 million copies in the United States alone and was awarded four Grammy Awards. The Broadway musical ensures that those tracks remain celebrated by being performed live eight times a week by a gifted ensemble of actors.
Beautiful put original cast member Jessie Mueller on the map, elevating her to the elite of Broadway's modern leading ladies, and earning her a Tony Award for her sensitive, nuanced portrayal of Carole King. The musical also explores her tumultuous relationship with ex-husband Gerry Goffin, as well as her working and personal relationships with fellow songwriters Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. This provides the perfect opportunity to showcase a handful of Weil/Mann classics along the way too, such as "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and, most fittingly, "On Broadway".
Beautiful is the epitome of the bio-musical and a great way to awaken an uplifting sense of nostalgia in die-hard Carole King fans from across the globe, as well as introducing younger theatregoers to the music that defined a generation. Why not pay a trip to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre and find out about the natural woman behind those legendary hits?

Long before she was Carole King: chart-topping music artist, she was Carol Klein: a girl from Brooklyn. She fought her way into the record business as a teenager and, by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock ‘n’ roll.
