'A Sign of the Times' sets Off-Broadway cast
The new jukebox musical, which features a score of classic pop songs from the 1960s, begins New York performances at New World Stages on February 7.
Everything's waiting for them! The new musical A Sign of the Times has set initial casting for its Off-Broadway premiere at New World Stages. Performances begin February 7 ahead of a February 22 opening.
Chilina Kennedy stars in A Sign of the Times as Cindy alongside two-time Drama Desk nominee Ryan Silverman as Brian, Justin Matthew Sargent as Matt, and Tony Award nominee Crystal Lucas-Perry as Tanya.
The cast also includes Cassie Austin, Erica Simone Barnett, Shawn Bowers, Alyssa Carol, Jeremiah Ginn, Kuppi Alec Jessop, Lena Matthews, Maggie McDowell, J Savage, Michael Starr, and Edward Staudenmayer.
Additional casting has yet to be set.
A Sign of the Times follows Cindy, a young photographer who moves to New York and tries to find her way in a changing world, when the Vietnam War, civil rights movements, and women's liberation movements are all swirling around her.
The book is by Lindsey Hope Pearlman, based on an original story by Richard J. Robin, and the show is set to dozens of hit songs from the 1960s by artists like Petula Clark, Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, and more.
