The queen is back! RuPaul's Drag Race star Alaska Thunderfuck will return to the cast of Drag: The Musical off Broadway beginning February 8. Additionally, the acclaimed production at New World Stages has extended through June 1.
Thunderfuck returns to the role of drag queen Kitty Galloway, which she originated when Drag: The Musical began performances in fall 2024. She also co-created the musical with Tomas Costanza and Ashley Gordon.
Thunderfuck will replace fellow Drag Race alum Jimbo, whose limited run as Kitty ends February 7. Continuing cast members include Nick Adams as Alexis Gilmore, Adam Pascal as Tom Hutchinson, Lagoona Bloo as Tuna Turner, Jan Sport as Savannah St. James, Jujubee as The Tigress, J. Elaine Marcos as Gloria Schmidt/Rita Laritz, Nick Laughlin as Puss Puss Dubois, Liisi LaFontaine as Dixie Coxworth, Luxx Noir London as Popcorn, Eddie Korbich as Drunk Jerry, and Remi Tuckman and Yair Keydar alternating as Brendan Hutchinson.
Drag: The Musical follows drag queens Kitty Galloway and Alexis Gilmore who, after a bitter split, open rival nightclubs across the street from each other. When the fate of both clubs ends up in jeopardy, however, only the fiercest and most fabulous can survive.
"Drag: The Musical has everything that a musical could want: big numbers, big wigs, loveable characters, and a lot of heart," New York Theatre Guide's critic wrote. Additionally, the musical earned a Special Recognition Honor at this year's GLAAD Media Awards.
