American Buffalo will open on Broadway in April 2021
The production will now open exactly one year after its originally scheduled opening.
The Broadway revival of American Buffalo, directed by Neil Pepe, has announced that it will open at the Circle in Square Theatre on April 14, 2021. The date is exactly one year after its initially scheduled opening date, which was postponed due to the Broadway shutdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This David Mamet play about three small-time hustlers originally premiered on Broadway in 1977 and was subsequently revived in 1983 as well and adapted into a film in 1996. The 2020 production was slated to star Laurence Fishburne, Sam Rockwell, and Darren Criss, but official casting for the new 2021 date has yet to be announced.
Previews for this latest production American Buffalo will begin at the Circle in the Square Theatre on March 22, 2021.
The creative team will include Scott Pask (set design), Dede Ayite (costume design), and Tyler Micoleau (lighting design).
