The new play, written by Guadalís Del Carmen and directed by Melissa Crespo, runs at the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space for five weeks beginning this May.
Casting has been set for Guadalís Del Carmen's Bees and Honey, the next play in MCC Theater's Off-Broadway season. Performances run from May 4 to June 11, with an opening night on May 22.
The cast includes Maribel Martinez as Johaira and Xavier Pacheco as Manuel.
Additionally, on the creative side, Bees and Honey featurs set design by Shoko Kambara, costume design by Devario D. Simmons, lighting design by Reza Behjat, sound design by Germán Martínez, original music by Dilson, and intimacy and fight direction by Teniece Divya Johnson.
Directed by Melissa Crespo, Bees and Honey follows Johaira and Manuel, a married couple living in Washington Heights. As they enter new stages in their lives, their marriage is put to the test, and they must figure out whether love is enough to keep them together.
The play is inspired by Juan Luis Guerra’s Como Abeja Al Panal.
