'black odyssey' sets full Off-Broadway cast, including D. Woods
The play begins performances in February.

Classic Stage Company has set the full cast for its production of black odyssey, written by Marcus Gardley. The New York-premiere play will run from February 9 to March 26, with opening night on February 26.
The cast is led by Sean Boyce Johnson as Ulysses Lincoln and Danity Kane's D. Woods as Nella P. Lincoln. The cast also includes James T. Alfred as Deus, Tẹmídayọ Amay as Benevolence, Harriett D. Foy as Aunt Tee, Marcus Gladney Jr. as Malachai Lincoln, Adrienne C. Moore as Alsendra Sabine, Keith Randolph Smith as Paw Sidin, and Lance Coadie Williams as Artez Sabine.
Ain't No Mo' director Stevie Walker-Webb directs black odyssey, which also features set design by David Goldstein, costume design by Kindall Almond, lighting design by Adam Honoré, music direction by Linda Tillery and Molly Holm, choreography by Aquila Kikora Franklin, and assistant direction by PJ Johnnie JR.
black odyssey is an adaptation of Homer's Odyssey, which followed Odysseus on his 10-year journey home from the Trojan War. Gardley's play follows modern-day soldier Ulysses Lincoln on his own path to reconnect with his family in Harlem. His ancestors' history guides his way on his journey that blends the human and the otherworldly.
