Bruce Willis to produce ‘My Mother’s Severed Head’ on Theatre Row
Charles Cissel's dark comedy will begin performances in September.
Heads up! Award-winning actor and producer Bruce Willis will join The Burgess Group to mount My Mother's Severed Head at Theatre One on Theatre Row. Performances will begin off Broadway September 10 ahead of a September 13 opening.
In Charles Cissel's play, the playwright Robert and his father find themselves constantly fighting following the death of Robert's mother. But she's not entirely out of the picture — she was decapitated, and her head rests in the family home, talking at Robert as though she never left. She just has to figure out how to get her head back onto her body.
The cast for My Mother's Severed Head includes Camilo Sanchez Lobo, Luis Alberto Garcia, Katelyn Sparks, Nana Ponceleon, and Giancarlo Herrera. Richard Caliban will direct.
The rest of the creative team includes scenic designer Wesley Cornwell, lighting designer Daniela Fresand, and costume designer Heather Carey.
Tickets for My Mother's Severed Head will be available soon. Check back soon for My Mother's Severed Head tickets.
