'Caroline, or Change' announces full Broadway casting
The musical opens October 27 at Studio 54.
No one waiting for the Caroline, or Change cast anymore! Roundabout Theatre Company, which is producing the revival of the musical, has announced the full cast. Caroline, or Change will start performances on October 8 at Studio 54 ahead of an October 27 opening night.
As previously announced, Sharon D Clarke will return to her Olivier Award-winning role as Caroline Thibodeaux. The cast also includes Gabriel Amoroso, Adam Makké, and Jaden Myles Waldman alternating as Noah Gellman, Caissie Levy as Rose Stopnick Gellman, John Cariani as Stuart Gellman, Joy Hermalyn as Grandma Gellman, Stuart Zagnit as Grandpa Gellman, Samantha Williams as Emmie Thibodeaux, Alexander Bello as Jackie Thibodeaux, Jayden Theophile as Joe Thibodeaux, Tamika Lawrence as Dotty Moffett, Chip Zien as Mr. Stopnick, Arica Jackson as The Washing Machine, Kevin S. McAllister as The Dryer and The Bus, N'Kenge as The Moon, Nasia Thomas as Radio 1, Nya as Radio 2, Harper Miles as Radio 3, and Richard Alexander Phillips as the alternate for Jackie Thibodeaux and Joe Thibodeaux.
Caroline, or Change follows the titular Black maid working for a Jewish family, the Gellmans, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement. A little extra money gives her a chance at the better life she wants for her and her family, but it changes her relationship with the Gellmans and her loved ones. The musical features a book and lyrics by Tony Kushner and music by Jeanine Tesori. Michael Longhurst directs the production.
