New '& Juliet' Broadway casting announced, including Charli D'Amelio
The dancer and TikTok star will make her Broadway debut in the critically acclaimed pop musical, performing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre for a limited time.
& Juliet on Broadway will welcome multiple new cast members, including social media star Charli D'Amelio, who performs in the hit musical at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre from October 29 to January 19 only.
D'Amelio will play the ensemble role of Charmain, making her Broadway debut. She is best known as a dancer on social media, having become the most followed user on TikTok from March 2020 to January 2022. She also won season 31 of the reality competition show Dancing With the Stars.
"I’m beyond excited to join the Broadway community — it’s a dream I’ve had since I was a little girl," D’Amelio said in a statement. "To be able to make my Broadway debut — especially in the cast of & Juliet, is truly a dream come true, and I can't wait to share this experience with everyone."
New casting this fall also includes Alison Luff as Anne, Liam Pearce as Romeo, and current ensemble member Michael Iván Carrier taking over the role of May beginning October 29. Additionally, Nathan Levy will join as François on November 19.
The current main cast of & Juliet on Broadway includes Maya Boyd as Juliet, Paulo Szot as Lance, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway, Drew Gehling as Shakespeare, Justin David Sullivan as May, Jeannette Bayardelle as Nurse, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo, and Philippe Arroyo as Francois.
As previously announced, Wolfe will depart the cast on October 20, and Walker, Sullivan, and Arroyo will depart on October 27.
New ensemble members include Gabe Amato as Gregory, Reese Britts as Sly, Nicholas Cooper as Lenox, Jhailyn Paige Farcon as Imogen, Elsa Keefe as Eleanor/Benvolio, Alejandro MullerDahlberg as Crosse, Cassie Silva as Lucy, Darien “Daah” Van Rensalier as Augustine, and Romy Vuksan as Viola.
& Juliet reimagines the ending of Romeo & Juliet, imagining Juliet going on a new adventure for a second chance at life and love rather than dying over Romeo. The show is set to 30 pop hits created by Grammy-winning hitmaker Max Martin and made famous by artists like Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, and more.
