Complete cast set for 'Becoming Eve' off Broadway starring Tommy Dorfman
Brandon Uranowitz, Judy Kuhn, Richard Schiff, and more join New York Theatre Workshop's production at the Abrons Arts Center, which starts performances in March.
New York Theatre Workshop has announced the complete cast for its spring production of Becoming Eve off Broadway, a new play written by Emil Weinstein and adapted from the memoir by Abby Chava Stein. Performances run at the Abrons Arts Center from March 19 to April 27, with opening night on April 7.
Joining the previously announced Tommy Dorfman (13 Reasons Why, Romeo + Juliet) are Emmy Award winner Richard Schiff (The West Wing) as Tati, Tony Award winner Brandon Uranowitz (Leopoldstadt, Ragtime, Falsettos) as Jonah, Tony nominee Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, She Loves Me, Les Misérables) as Mami, Tedra Millan (Leopoldstadt) as Fraidy, Rad Pereira (Betty) as Chesky, and Justin Perkins (Shank’s Mare) and Emma Wiseman (Three Houses) as Puppeteers.
Becoming Eve follows a Jewish rabbi who must reconcile her transgender identity with the strictly gendered world she grew up in. She and two other rabbis debate orthodoxy and modernity in order to save her family.
The show features direction by Tyne Rafaeli, scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by UptownWorks (Daniela Hart, Noel Nichols, and Bailey Trieweiler), puppet design by Amanda Villalobos, and music by Daniel Kluger.
