'Drag: The Musical' sets complete cast

The new musical comedy about rival drag bars features numerous past contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race alongside a boy band star and Broadway actors.

Werk! Drag: The Musical, a new Off-Broadway musical comedy, has set its complete cast. Performances begin at New World Stages on September 30, ahead of an October 21 opening night.

The complete cast includes the previously announced RuPaul's Drag Race star Alaska Thunderfuck as Kitty Galloway, Lagoona Bloo as Tuna Turner, Jan Sport as Savannah St. James, Jujubee as The Tigress, J. Elaine Marcos as Gloria Schmidt/Rita Laritz, and New Kids on the Block's Joey McIntyre as Tom Hutchinson.

McIntyre will perform through November 24, and Thunderfuck through January 11, 2025.

Newly announced cast members include Nick Adams as Alexis Gilmore, Nick Laughlin as Puss Puss Dubois, Bre Jackson as Dixie Coxworth, Luxx Noir London as Popcorn, Eddie Korbich as Drunk Jerry, and Remi Tuckman and Yair Keydar alternating in the role of 10-year-old Brendan Hutchinson.

The ensemble includes Cameron Mitchell Bell, Brandon Burks, Nicholas Kraft, Christine Shepard, and Kodiak Thompson.

Drag: The Musical follows two rival queens who open competing drag bars after a bitter split, and they battle for customers and glory. The show is co-written by Alaska, Tomas Costanza, and Ashley Gordon, and directed and choreographed by Emmy nominee Spencer Liff. Liff also staged the show's two previous runs in L.A., where Drag: The Musical the BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Award for Best New Play or Musical and the Queerties Award for Live Theater.

The Off-Broadway production also features lighting design by Adam Honoré, costume design by Marco Marco, scenic design by Jason Sherwood, sound design by Drew Levy, projection design by Aaron Rhyne, wig design by Domino Couture, and makeup design by Aurora Sexton.
