'Funny Girl' hosts Broadway digital lottery
Beanie Feldstein stars as Fanny Brice in the musical revival.
Hello, gorgeous! The first revival of Funny Girl has begun Broadway performances, and the show will host a digital lottery for $47.50 tickets throughout its run. Funny Girl played its first performance at the August Wilson Theatre March 26 and opens April 24.
The Funny Girl lottery will open at 10 a.m. each Monday for that week's performances. Entries close at 10:30 a.m. the day before each performance. Entrants can request up to two tickets. Winners will be emailed at approximately 11 a.m. when the lottery for their that performance closes, and they will have a limited time to purchase their tickets online. Ticket limits and prices are subject to change.
Beanie Feldstein stars in Funny Girl as Fanny Brice, based on the real-life Ziegfeld Follies showgirl. The musical follows her rise to fame and her romance with the gambler Nicky Arnstein, for whom she risks it all. Ramin Karimloo also stars as Nicky, and Jane Lynch plays Mrs. Rosie Brice.
Michael Mayer directs the revival, and Ellenore Scott choreographs. Funny Girl features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill, and a revised book by Harvey Fierstein based on Isobel Lennart's original.
