Gracie Lawrence, Emily Bergl to join 'Just in Time' Broadway cast
The actresses star alongside Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff as Bobby Darin in this bio-musical about the 20th-century pop singer's life and career.
It's their time! Gracie Lawrence and Emily Bergl have joined the cast of the Bobby Darin musical Just in Time, beginning Broadway performances March 28 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Opening night is April 23.
Lawrence, who will play musician Connie Francis, is known as a member of the pop-soul band Lawrence and for appearing in season 3 of HBO Max's The Sex Lives of College Girls. She makes her Broadway musical debut with Just in Time.
Bergl plays Nina/Mary in the show. She is a Drama Desk Award nominee for her most recent Broadway performance in Good Night, Oscar, and she is known for her screen roles in the movie The Rage: Carrie 2 and the TV series Desperate Housewives, Shameless, American Crime, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Lawrence and Bergl join the previously announced Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff as Bobby Darin, Michele Pawk as Polly, Joe Barbara as Steve Blauner and others, Lance Roberts as Ahmet Ertegun and others, Caesar Samayoa as Don Kirchner and others, Christine Cornish, Julia Grondin, Valeria Yamin, John Treacy Egan, Tari Kelly, Matt Magnusson, Khori Michelle Petinaud, and Larkin Reilly.
Written by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver and based on an original concept by Ted Chapin, Just in Time charts Bobby Darin's quick rise from unknown songwriter to global teen pop sensation — all before his death at age 37 — and includes his best-known hits, like "Splish Splash," "Mack the Knife," and "Beyond the Sea." The Circle in the Square will be transformed into an intimate nightclub for the musical.
The show also features direction by Alex Timbers, choreography by Shannon Lewis, sets by Derek McLane, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Justin Townsend, sound by Peter Hylenski, and music supervision and arrangements by Andrew Resnick.
