'Hadestown' announces new Broadway casting
Three actors will join the company of the Tony Award-winning musical, which has run at the Walter Kerr Theatre for over five years, in January 2025.
They're on the road to hell! Hadestown has named three new cast members who will join the show at the Walter Kerr Theatre starting on January 14, 2025.
Joining Hadestown on Broadway will be Tony Award nominee Hailey Kilgore (Once on This Island) as Eurydice, Carlos Valdes (The CW's The Flash) as Orpheus, and Tom Hewitt, rejoining the cast for the fourth time as Hades.
They respectively replace current stars Maia Reficco, Jordan Fisher, and Phillip Boykin, all of whom play their final performance on January 12.
The current Hadestown Broadway cast also includes Lillias White as Hermes, Allison Russell as Persephone, and Shea Renee, Jessie Shelton, and Brit West as the Fates.
Created by Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown is a folk and jazz reimagining of Greek mythology. The musician Orpheus takes a dangerous journey to the underworld to rescue his lover, Eurydice, and encounters gods and more along the way.
In 2019, when the show premiered on Broadway, Hadestown won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
