Hugh Jackman-led 'The Music Man' revival announces full Broadway cast
The musical revival begins performances at the Winter Garden Theatre on December 20.
Sound the 76 trombones for this announcement! The upcoming Broadway revival of Meredith Willson's classic musical The Music Man has announced its full cast. Performances begin December 20 at the Winter Garden Theatre ahead of a February 10 opening night.
As previously announced, Hugh Jackman will lead the production as Professor Harold Hill, with Sutton Foster starring as Marian Paroo. Other previously announced cast members (all of whom, like Jackman and Foster, have won Tony Awards) include Shuler Hensley as Marcellus Washburn, Jefferson Mays as Mayor Shinn, Jayne Houdyshell as Mrs. Shinn, and Marie Mullen as Mrs. Paroo.
The complete principal cast of The Music Man includes newly announced members Remy Auberjonois as Charlie Cowell, Gino Cosculluela as Tommy Djilas, and Emma Crow as Zaneeta Shinn. Joining the cast are Benjamin Pajak as Winthrop, Kayla Teruel as Amaryllis, Garrett Long as Ethel Toffelmier, Linda Mugleston as Alma Hix, Jessica Sheridan as Maud Dunlop, Rema Webb as Mrs. Squires, Phillip Boykin as Olin Britt, Eddie Korbich as Jacey Squires, Daniel Torres as Ewart Dunlop, and Nicholas Ward as Oliver Hix. Max Clayton is the standby for for Harold Hill, Charlie Cowell, and Marcellus Washburn.
The ensemble includes Nick Alvino, Jordan Beall, Ronnie S. Bowman Jr., Maria Briggs, Audrey Cardwell, JT Church, Clayton, Kammie Crum, Aydin Eyikan, Carlee Flanagan, Ethen Green-Younger, Emily Hoder, Curtis Holland, Eloise Kropp, Ethan Lafazan, Kayla LaVine, Andrew Minard, Sean Montgomery, Tanner Quirk, Lance Roberts, Daniel Patrick Russell, Ann Sanders, Sherisse Springer, Mitchell Tobin, Kathy Voytko, Branch Woodman, and Ryan Worsing.
In The Music Man, con man Harold Hill poses as a music instructor, who sells instruments and uniforms to hopeful bands but leaves before teaching them anything. Local librarian and real piano teacher Marian Paroo realizes his scheme and threatens to out him, a plan that gets complicated when she falls for him.
The Music Man is directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, who also worked together on the 2017 Hello, Dolly! revival starring Bette Midler.
