Welcome to the Moulin Rouge! John Cardoza, Solea Pfeiffer, and Pepe Muñoz will join the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre this fall, playing their first performances on October 15.

Cardoza will star as Christian, a role he previously played on the first national tour of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. He is currently starring as Young Noah in the Broadway musical adaptation of The Notebook.

Pfeiffer will step into the lead role of Satine. She is known for her Broadway performances as Penny Lane in Almost Famous and Eurydice in Hadestown, and she recently wrapped a run as Myrtle Wilson in the world-premiere musical Gatsby: An American Myth in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Muñoz makes his Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical after appearing in the international tour of West Side Story, Chicago in London's West End, and more.

Cardoza and Pfeiffer will respectively replace Aaron Tveit and Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, who will play their final performances on October 13 as scheduled. Muñoz will replace Ricky Rojas, who plays his final performance September 8. Alexander Gil Cruz and Ricardo A. Zayas will alternate in the role of Santiago in between.

Continuing cast members include Austin Durant as Harold Zidler, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke, Sophie Carmen-Jones as Nini, and Hailee Kaleem Wright as the Satine alternate.

Adapted from Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 movie, Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows the star-crossed, forbidden romance between writer Christian and courtesan Satine at the title Parisian nightclub at the turn of the 20th century. The Broadway show incorporates dozens of pop songs from the 1940s to the 2010s.
