Lauren Patten, Damon Daunno, Taylor Iman Jones to star in 'The Lonely Few'
The New York-premiere rock musical by Rachel Bonds and Zoe Sarnak will debut off Broadway with MCC Theater on April 26 for a five-week limited engagement.
MCC Theater has named the cast for The Lonely Few off Broaday, an original new musical premiering this spring. Performances run from April 26 to June 2 only, and opening night is May 20.
Featuring a book by Rachel Bonds and songs by Zoe Sarnak, The Lonely Few centers on Lila, who plays with a band called The Lonely Few in her small Kentucky town. Famous musician Amy discovers Lila's band and offers the band a chance to tour with her — which also leads to a blossoming romance between Lila and Amy. But can this new shot at life and love last for either of them?
The Lonely Few cast includes Tony Award winner Lauren Patten as Lila, Taylor Iman Jones as Amy, Damon Daunno as Dylan, Peter Mark Kendall as Adam, Helen J. Shen as JJ, and Thomas Silcott as Paul.
Additionally, the creative team includes directors Trip Cullman and Ellenore Scott, scenic designer Sibyl Wickersheimer, costume designer Samantha C. Jones, lighting designer Adam Honoré, sound designers Jonathan Dean and Mike Tracey, music supervisor Bryan Perri, music director Myrna Conn, music coordinator Tomoko Akaboshi, keyboard programmer Randy Cohen Keyboards, and guitar programmer Dillon Kondor. Orchestrations are by Sarnak and Perri, and arrangements are by Sarnak.
The Lonely Few premiered at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles in 2023. Patten, Daunno, Shen, and Silcott return from that production.
