They're gonna be popular! Lencia Kebede and Allie Trimm will be the newest stars of Wicked on Broadway, respectively stepping into the roles of Elphaba and Glinda starting March 4 at the Gershwin Theatre.

Kebede makes her Broadway debut in Wicked after playing Angelica on the U.S. national tour of Hamilton. She is the first Black actress to play Elphaba on Broadway full-time.

Trimm was the standby for Glinda on Broadway from December 2021 to March 2024 and now assumes the role full-time. Trimm's additional Broadway credits include 13: The Musical and Bye Bye Birdie.

Kebede and Trimm will replace current stars Mary Kate Morrissey and Alexandra Socha, whose final performance is March 2. Additional new Wicked casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

The current Wicked cast also includes Jordan Litz as Fiyero, Donna McKechnie as Madame Morrible, Brad Oscar as The Wizard, Jake Pedersen as Boq, Natalie Ortega as Nessarose, and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamond.

Now in its 21st year at the Gershwin, Wicked is the fourth-longest-running Broadway show of all time. Set before the events of The Wizard of Oz, the musical follows witches Elphaba and Glinda as they develop an unlikely friendship at school. But their friendship is tested when the people of Oz decide one is a good witch and the other is wicked — and it's not necessarily that simple.

Wicked features popular songs like "Defying Gravity" and is also known for its hit 2024 film adaptation starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
