Lou Wall's 'Breaking the Fifth Wall' to premiere off Broadway
The award-winning comedian and viral social media sensation will perform their stand-up comedy show at the SoHo Playhouse for three weeks only this fall.
Lou Wall will present their solo stand-up comedy show Breaking the Fifth Wall off Broadway this fall, running from September 17 to October 5 only at the SoHo Playhouse.
Wall, an award-winning Australian comedian, went globally viral online for a Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala performance in which they told a wild story of trying to sell a bedframe on Facebook Marketplace. With millions of people wondering whether the story is true, Wall is here to set the record straight — or are they? Where does the truth end and exaggerating, or even lying, for the sake of comedy begin?
Breaking the Fifth Wall won Best of the Festival at the 2024 Sydney Comedy Festival and was nominated for a Melbourne Comedy Festival Award in 2024 and 2025. Wall is also known for their shows That One Time I Joined The Illuminati, The Bisexual’s Lament, and Lousical the Musical (Green Room winner for Best Production, Best Writing and Outstanding Online Achievement in Cabaret), and their comedy album Bleep Bloop.
Fellow Australian comic Zoë Coombs Marr directs.
