Newcomer Holden William Hagelberger to play the title role in ‘Trevor: The Musical” off Broadway
The new musical will begin performances October 25 at Stage 42.
Holden William Hagelberger, a 13-year-old Sugarland, Texas native, will play the title role in Trevor: The Musical off Broadway. Hagelberger was cast from a virtual nationwide casting call that received more than 1,300 submissions.
Trevor: The Musical follows an imaginative young boy who struggles with his identity and fitting in as he grows into a teenager. The musical is based on Celeste Lecesne's original story that became an Academy Award-winning short film with the same name.
The musical adaptation features a book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis. Marc Bruni will direct the Stage 42 production, and Josh Prince will choreograph.
Trevor was in rehearsals off Broadway when the pandemic halted shows and rehearsals. The Off-Broadway premiere will now begin performances October 25, ahead of a November 10 opening night.
