The Olivier Award-winning play is set for an official opening at the Golden Theatre on March 19, 2020.
Ahead of next week's official opening, producers of the Broadway premiere of Martin McDonagh's Hangmen have now released official production photography.
Check out these brand new shots of the Hangmen cast on Broadway, which includes Olivier Award nominee Mark Addy (as Harry), two-time Olivier Award winner Tracie Bennett (as Alice), Ewen Bremner (as Syd), Owen Campbell (as Clegg), Jeremy Crutchley (as Inspector Fry), Gaby French (as Shirley), Josh Goulding (as Hennessy), Olivier Award nominee John Hodgkinson (as Pierrepoint), Richard Hollis (as Bill), John Horton (as Arthur), Ryan Pope (as Charlie), and Dan Stevens (as Mooney).
Hangmen began preview performances at the Golden Theatre on February 28, 2020, and is scheduled for an official opening on March 19 and a limited engagement through July 18, 2020.
Synopsis: "England 1965 - What is Britain's (second most) famous executioner to do now that hanging has been abolished? The simple answer is a lot more than he bargained for. In his small pub in the northern English town of Oldham, Harry is something of a local celebrity and the cub reporters and pub regulars are dying to hear Harry's reaction to the news, while his old assistant Syd and the mysterious Mooney lurk with very different motives for their visit."
Martin McDonagh's Hangmen was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London in September 2015, quickly transferring to the West End's Wyndham's Theatre in December 2015, winning 'Best New Play' and 'Best Set Design' at the 2016 Olivier Awards. The play's Off-Broadway premiere was presented by Atlantic Theater Company from January through March 2018.
Mr. McDonagh is perhaps best known for his screenplays of the hit films "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri," "Seven Psychopaths," and "In Bruges." In addition, he has earned four Tony Award nominations - for The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2006), The Pillowman (2005), The Lonesome West (1999), and The Beauty Queen of Leenane (1998). His most recent Broadway credits include 2014's The Cripple of Inishmaan and 2010's A Behanding in Spokane, and, across the pond, he has won a total of three Olivier Awards, including 'Best New Play' for Hangmen in 2016.
The creative team under the direction of Olivier Award nominee Matthew Dunster features scenic & costume design by Olivier Award winner Anna Fleischle, lighting design by Joshua Carr and sound design by Olivier Award winner Ian Dickinson.
The Broadway premiere is produced by Robert Fox, Jean Doumanian & Elizabeth I. McCann.
Hangmen Tickets are available now for performances through July 18, 2020.
