Oliver Tompsett to join '& Juliet' Broadway cast
The actor was in the critically acclaimed musical's original London cast before the show transferred to New York, and he will perform for six weeks only.
He's larger than life! Oliver Tompsett will join the & Juliet Broadway cast this month, performing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre for a six-week limited engagement beginning May 10.
Tompsett originated the role of Shakespeare in & Juliet in 2019 in London's West End, where the show began before it moved to Broadway. The actor's other West End credits include Pretty Woman, Kinky Boots, and Wicked.
Tompsett will make his Broadway debut with & Juliet. He temporarily replaces current performer Austin Scott, who will depart the production on May 9 and return on June 18.
The & Juliet Broadway cast also includes Lorna Courtney as Juliet, David Bedella as Lance, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway, Justin David Sullivan as May, Charity Angél Dawson as Angélique, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo, and Philippe Arroyo as Francois.
As previously announced, Courtney will depart the production on May 12, and Maya Boyd will join in the title role on May 14.
& Juliet imagines what Shakespeare's heroine would do if she didn't end it all over Romeo: Here, she travels to Paris for a second chance at friendship, romance, and life. This story is set to 30 pop hits made famous by Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, and more.
