All five actors will make their Broadway debuts in the musical comedy inspired by a real-life World War II mission, which plays the Golden Theatre this spring.
Do you copy? Operation Mincemeat on Broadway has named its cast, with the original actors from the show's award-winning London premiere reprising their roles. Performances begin at the Golden Theatre on February 15 ahead of a March 20 opening.
The production will star David Cumming as Charles Cholmondeley, Claire-Marie Hall as Jean Leslie, Natasha Hodgson as Ewen Montagu, Jak Malone as Hester, and Zoë Roberts as Johnny Bevan and others. Malone won a 2024 Olivier Award for his performance, and Cumming, Hodgson, and Roberts were all nominated.
All five actors will make their Broadway debuts in Operation Mincemeat. The show premiered in London 2019 and made its West End debut in 2023, winning the 2024 Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
Operation Mincemeat is named for a real-life World War II mission — one that's almost unbelievable. A covert operation involving a stolen corpse turned the tides for the Allies in 1943.
The musical is created by the comedy troupe SplitLip, consisting of Cumming, Hodgson, Roberts, and Felix Hagan. Robert Hastie directs, and Jenny Arnold choreographs.
