Second Stage Theater announces cast of The Underlying Chris
The world premiere of Will Eno's The Underlying Chris begins performances at the Tony Kiser Theater on October 29, 2019.
Second Stage Theater has now revealed casting for the upcoming world premiere of The Underlying Chris, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Will Eno and directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, which is set to play a limited engagement at the Tony Kiser Theater from October 29 through December 15, 2019, with an official opening scheduled for November 21.
The cast of The Underlying Chris includes Denise Burse, Hannah Cabell, Michael Countryman, Nicholas Hutchinson, Lenne Klingaman, Lizbeth MacKay, Nedra McClyde, Howard Overshown, Isabella Russo, Charles Turner, and Luis Vega.
Synopsis: "The Underlying Chris is a life-affirming and high-spirited look at how a person comes into their identity, and how sometimes it's life's tiniest moments that most profoundly change our lives. In these divided times, The Underlying Chris serves as a celebration of our differences, our individuality, and the many mysterious, difficult, and beautiful things we share simply by being alive."
The creative team features scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, and sound design by Dan Moses Schreier.
The Underlying Chris is co-commissioned by Center Theatre Group.
