The musical comedy, now at the Golden Theatre following an Olivier Award-winning run in London, centers on an unbelievable true slice of World War II history.
What do you get when you put World War II history, five British actors, and a corpse on stage? You might think high drama, but think again — Operation Mincemeat is musical comedy through and through.
This award-winning musical from London centers on a real deception mission in which Allied troops threw off German forces by planting false intelligence on a dead body. For the show's transfer to Broadway's Golden Theatre, all five original London cast members reprise their roles: David Cumming as Charles Cholmondeley, Claire-Marie Hall as Jean Leslie, Natasha Hodgson as Ewen Montagu, Olivier Award winner Jak Malone as Hester, and Zoë Roberts as Johnny Bevan and others.
Cumming, Hodgson, and Roberts, along with Felix Hagan, co-created the musical as the comedy troupe SpitLip. Take a sneak peek at this weird-but-true show, and learn more about Operation Mincemeat here!
