The Academy Award-winning actor makes his Broadway debut in Ayad Akhtar's world-premiere play opposite Melora Hardin, Andrea Martin, Ruthie Ann Miles, and more.

Robert Downey Jr. is officially a Broadway actor! The Oscar-winning Hollywood star known for Iron Man, Oppenheimer, and more is currently making his Broadway debut in Lincoln Center Theater's McNeal, a world-premiere play at the Vivian Beaumont Theater about writing, technology, and ethics.

Downey stars in the fictional title role of Jacob McNeal, a novelist at the top of his career. He's got numerous New York Times bestsellers and a Nobel Prize, but he also has a troubled past and a potentially unhealthy obsession with artificial intelligence. Both of threaten to catch up to him as they start to infiltrate his work — which may not be entirely his own.

Bartlett Sher directs Ayad Akhtar's play, which also features Melora Hardin, Andrea Martin, Ruthie Ann Miles, Brittany Bellizeare, Rafi Gavron, and Saisha Talwar. See photos of Downey and the cast in the show below, and get tickets to see them live through November 24 only.
