All four main cast members return from the show's pre-Broadway productions that took place in Berkeley, California and Washington, D.C. from 2022-23.
The new Broadway musical Swept Away has named its complete cast ahead of the start of performances at the Longacre Theatre this fall.
Numerous cast members return from the show's previous productions at California's Berkeley Rep in 2022 and D.C.'s Arena Stage in 2023. These include all four principal actors: Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. (Spring Awakening) as Mate, Tony nominee Stark Sands (Kinky Boots) as Big Brother, Adrian Blake Enscoe (Dickinson) as Little Brother, and Wayne Duvall (1984) as Captain.
Also returning are ensemble members Hunter Brown, Matt DeAngelis, Cameron Johnson, Brandon Kalm, Michael J. Mainwaring, Orville Mendoza, Tyrone L. Robinson, and John Sygar.
New to the cast are Josh Breckenridge, Rico LeBron, John Michael Finley, Chase Peacock, Robert Pendilla, and David Rowen.
On the creative side, Swept Away features bookwriter John Logan; director Michael Mayer; choreographer David Neumann; set designer Rachel Hauck; costume designer Susan Hilferty; lighting designer Kevin Adams; sound designer John Shivers; music arranger and orchestrator Chris Miller; music arranger, orchestrator, and music supervisor Brian Usifer; and music director Will Van Dyke.
Set to the music of the rock band The Avett Brothers, Swept Away tells a story of adventure and survival as four men fight to stay alive in a lifeboat after a shipwreck.
