'Take Me Out' to offer Broadway rush tickets on TodayTix
Richard Greenberg's play begins performances March 10.
Batter up for Take Me Out! The Broadway revival of Richard Greenberg's Tony-winning play will offer $39 rush tickets throughout its Broadway run with Second Stage Theater. Take Me Out begins performances at the Hayes Theater March 10 ahead of an April 4 opening, and runs through May 29.
Take Me Out rush tickets will be available on the TodayTix app each morning at 9 a.m. A limited number of tickets will be available for that afternoon and/or evening's performance on a first-come, first-serve basis. Users must "unlock" rush tickets prior to their desired performance day by posting about the program on social media.
Take Me Out stars Jesse Williams as Darren Lemming, a fictional Major League Baseball player who comes out as gay and faces discrimination from both his teammates and the public. When Greenberg wrote the play, no MLB player had come out while actively playing, and the show imagines what would happen in such a case. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Patrick J. Adams also lead the cast of Take Me Out's first Broadway revival since the show premiered in 2003, when it won the Best Play Tony Award and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
