'The Little Prince' to close on Broadway
The show's final performance will be May 8.
The prince's journey is coming to an end. The Broadway production of The Little Prince will close early, playing its final performance on May 8. The limited run began March 29 and was originally scheduled to run through August 14 at the Broadway Theatre.
The Little Prince is a stage adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 1943 novella about a young boy from a small planet, who goes on a journey through space to learn more about the universe, adulthood, friendship, and himself. The novella is one of the bestselling and most translated books of all time.
The Broadway production, which previously played in Paris, Sydney, and Dubai, tells the story with gymnastics, acrobatics, and dance. The New York Theatre Guide review of The Little Prince called the show "a whimsical spectacle to delight anyone with a little imagination."
The Little Prince features an adapted script by Chris Mouron, original music by Terry Truck, and choreography by Anne Tournié. Mouron and Tournié co-direct.
