The Minutes will reopen on Broadway in March 2021 at the Cort Theatre. The Steppenwolf production of Tracy Letts's play directed by Anna D. Shapiro was in previews when Broadway shut down.
Performances are scheduled to begin the week of March 1, 2021, and the official opening is set for March 15, 2021, exactly a year after its original scheduled opening.
The Minutes originally played at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 2017 in a record-breaking run. The play looks at the inner workings of a city council meeting and explores the controversies of local politics. The Broadway cast included Armie Hammer, Jessie Mueller, Letts, Ian Barford, Sally Murphy, Blair Brown, K. Todd Freeman, and Austin Pendleton. Casting for the return engagement will be confirmed at a later date.
The production features scenic design by David Zinn, costume design, by Ana Kuzmanic, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, and sound design and original music by André Plues.
