The Revisionist: Daniel Oreskes joins cast



Daniel Oreskes will join previously announced Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave in the world premiere of Eisenberg's The Revisionist, directed by Kip Fagan, opening at Cherry Lane Theatre on 28 Feb 2013, following previews from 15 Feb 2013, and running through to 31 Mar 2013.

The preview and opening dates have changed due to scheduling conflicts. The show was originally scheduled to open on 21 Feb 2013, and preview fron 6 Feb 2013.

In The Revisionist 'David' (Eisenberg) arrives in Poland with a crippling case of writer's block and a desire to be left alone. His 75-year-old second cousin 'Maria' (Redgrave) welcomes him with a fervent need to connect with her distant American family. As their tenuous relationship develops, she reveals details about her complicated post-war past that tests their ideas of what it means to be a family.

The creative teams features sets by John McDermott, costumes by Jessica Pabst, lighting by Matt Frey and sound by Bart Fasbender.

Bios:

Jesse Eisenberg most recently wrote and starred in Rattlestick's 'Asuncion' at the Cherry Lane Theatre. He has appeared in the films "The Social Network" (Oscar nomination), "Zombieland," "Adventureland" (BAFTA nomination), "The Squid and the Whale," and "Roger Dodger." He is also a contributing writer for McSweeney's and his humor essays have appeared in Harper's and The New York Times.

Daniel Oreskes recently performed the role of 'Bretzky' in Nathan Englander's 'The Twenty-Seventh Man' at The Public Theater as well as the role of 'Misha' in The New Group's production of 'Russian Transport.' Broadway credits include 'Billy Elliot,' 'The Miracle Worker,' 'Cymbeline,' 'Electra,' 'Aida' and 'The Song of Jacob Zulu.' Film credits include "The Thomas Crown Affair" and "The Devil's Advocate." TV: "The Sopranos," "The Good Wife," "Rescue Me," "Third Watch," "Pan Am" and "Law & Order."

Vanessa Redgrave as starred on Broadway in 'Driving Miss Daisy' (Tony nomination), 'The Year of Magical Thinking' (Tony nomination), 'Long Day's Journey Into Night' (Tony Award), 'Orpheus Descending' and 'The Lady from the Sea.' Off-Broadway credits include: 'ony and Cleopatra' and 'Vita & Virginia' (Obie Award). Her West End stage credits include 'The Aspern Papers,' for which she received an Olivier Award and, 'A Touch of the Poet' and 'A Doll's House' for which she earned Olivier Awards. Her many movie roles include 'Julia,' for which she won an Academy Award. She also earned Academy Award nominations for 'Howards End,' 'The Bostonians,' 'Mary, Queen of Scots,' 'Isadora' and 'Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment .' Other movie credits include: "Song for Marion," "Anonymous," "Coriolanus," "The Whistleblower," "Atonement," "The White Countess," "Mission: Impossible," "A Month by the Lake," "Deep Impact" and "Blow-Up."
