Thurgood: tickets are now on sale to the general public

Tickets went on sale today (23 Feb 2008) to the general public for the one-man play Thurgood, starring Laurence Fishburne, a biographical account of Civil Rights activist and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, opening at the Booth Theatre on 30 Apr 2008, following previews from 12 Apr, and selling tickets through to 3 Aug 2008.

Marshall rose from the backstreets of Baltimore to the Supreme Court of the United States, overcoming whatever obstacle society placed in his way. Thurgood is his remarkable story, a triumph of courage not just for the man, but for the nation he bravely challenged and proudly served.

Laurence Fishburne's made his Broadway debut playing 'Sterling' in August Wilson's 'Two Trains Running' (1992), for which he won the 1992 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He has appeared in many films, but he is probably most famous for playing 'Morpheus' in 'The Matrix' movies.

Thurgood is written by eleven-time Emmy Award-winner and two-time Peabody Award-winner George Stevens, Jr.,

Thurgood is being produced on Broadway by Boyett Ostar Productions.
