Tituss Burgess joins 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' Broadway cast
The Broadway veteran, known for shows like Guys & Dolls and The Little Mermaid, will play a limited two-month engagement in the role of Harold Zidler.
Welcome to the Moulin Rouge, Tituss! Tituss Burgess will join the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical next month, performing for a limited run from October 10 to December 17 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Burgess has appeared in four previous Broadway shows, making his debut with Good Vibrations and later performing in Jersey Boys, The Little Mermaid, and Guys & Dolls. He is also known for starring in the streamed Ratatouille: A TikTok Musical in 2021 and the second season of the TV show Schmigadoon in 2023.
In Moulin Rouge!, Burgess will temporarily assume the role of Harold Zidler from Eric Anderson, who will return to the production on December 19.
Burgess joins a cast that also includes Courtney Reed as Satine, Casey Cott as Christian, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, and Sophie Carmen-Jones as Nini.
Based on Baz Luhrmann's Oscar-winning film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows the star-crossed, tragic romance between the courtesan Satine and the writer Christian at the title Parisian nightclub. The show won 10 Tony Awards in 2021, including Best Musical.
