Tommy Dorfman will star this spring in Becoming Eve off Broadway, a new play presented by New York Theatre Workshop at the Abrons Arts Center this spring. Performances run from March 19 to April 27 only, and opening night is April 7.

Dorfman is known for playing Ryan Shaver in 13 Reasons Why on Netflix and is currently making her Broadway debut in Romeo + Juliet alongside Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler. In Becoming Eve, she plays Chava, a rabbi from a dynastic Hasidic family whose transgender identity clashes with her strictly gendered upbringing. Three rabbis, including Chava, attempt to bridge tradition and modernity in light of this revelation, and their conversation sheds new light on old teachings.

Becoming Eve is written by Emil Weinstein and adapted from the critically acclaimed memoir by Abby Chava Stein. Tyne Rafaeli directs the production, which also features scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by UptownWorks (Daniela Hart, Noel Nichols & Bailey Trieweiler), puppet design by Amanda Villalobos, and music by Daniel Kluger.
