Tony Award winner Linda Lavin to star in 'You Will Get Sick' off Broadway
The Roundabout Theatre Company production begins performances this fall.
Noah Diaz's new play You Will Get Sick has set its full cast and creative team ahead of its Off-Broadway world premiere. The Roundabout Theatre Company production will run from October 14 to December 11, with a November 6 opening night.
The cast is led by Tony and Golden Globe Award winner Linda Lavin, making her return to the New York stage for the first time since 2016's My Mother's Brief Affair. She is best known for her starring screen role in the sitcom Alice, which got her two Golden Globe wins out of three nominations, and an Emmy nomination. She is also a six-time Tony Award nominee, winning in 1987 for Broadway Bound. Her other stage credits include The Lyons, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, The Last of the Red Hot Lover, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Collected Stories.
Her Broadway and Off-Broadway work has also earned her two Obie Awards and two Drama Desk Awards.
The You Will Get Sick cast also includes Marinda Anderson, Daniel K. Isaac, Nate Miller, and Dario Ladani Sanchez. The creative team includes set designer Kimie Nishikawa, costume designer Alicia Austin, lighting designer Cha See, sound designer Lee Kinney, and illusion designer Skylar Fox.
You Will Get Sick centers on a man who, after receiving a life-changing medical diagnosis, hires a woman to break the news to his loved ones. The aftermath changes both their lives in unexpected ways. Tony nominee Sam Pinkleton directs.
