Wallace Shawn’s ‘The Fever’ to reopen the Minetta Lane Theatre in October
Lili Taylor will star in the Off-Broadway production.
Audible Theatre and The New Group will produce Wallace Shawn's Obie Award-winning play The Fever, the first live play to show on Audible's Off-Broadway stage, in October. The production will run October 8-24 at the Minetta Lane Theatre.
Lili Taylor, a three-time Emmy nominee known for roles in films including Mystic Pizza, Dogfight, and TV shows including The X Files and Six Feet Under, will star in The Fever. Shawn's play follows a well-to-do American who travels to a war-torn country. She recognizes the disparity between her privileged life and that of others, and she wonders whether she's part of the problem.
The play first premiered off Broadway in 1991, earning Shawn the Best New American Play Obie that year. Audible's production will be directed by The New Group's founding artistic director Scott Elliott.
The Fever precedes the previously announced revival of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night as part of Audible's season at the Minetta Lane Theatre. That production will run from January 11 to February 20, 2022.
The Fever tickets are on sale now.
