Who is Cole Escola?

Cole Escola is an actor, writer, and comedian who found their path in New York City’s comedy circuit. In 2008, Escola met comedian Jeffery Self, who shared Escola’s love for theatre and '90s sitcoms, motivating the pair to create a series of YouTube videos as the "Very Good Looking (VGL) Gay Boys." Following the videos’ cult success, Escola and Self launched their own TV show on Logo named Jeffery & Cole Casserole, which ran for two seasons. Escola subsequently appeared in shows like Difficult People, Search Party, At Home with Amy Sedaris, Big Mouth, and more.

Apart from acting, Escola wrote for comedy TV programs like Ziwe, The Other Two, and Difficult People. In 2021, they released a YouTube version of their live special "Help! I'm Stuck With Cole Escola," and in 2023, they presented a YouTube homage to '70s Westerns titled "Our Home Out West," which earned Escola a place in Vanity Fair’s 25 Best Performances of 2023 list.

Hilarious, Great writing, Great acting, Delightful, Clever

See it if A new play created by&starring brilliant Comedian C.Escola&equally talented C.Ricamora gets laughs out of the unlikely topic as First Lady*

Don’t see it if U may get annoyed by some laughing@the wrong time, e g when Mary tries to explain why she's into alcohol or when some sad truths r revealed.

Nasty, Delightful, Hilarious, Raunchy, Campy

See it if Escola & co. glow with stage presence in a delightful, nasty, raunchy takeoff on the Lincolns. Surprising & funny at every turn.

Don’t see it if Gutter mouthed, gay, and in no way intended to be authentic.

Quirky, Refreshing, Clever, Melodramatic, Hilarious

See it if you enjoy hilarious, revisionist history; men in drag; and cabaret (this is not a cabaret).

Don’t see it if you think joking about the Civil War and Lincoln’s assassination is “too soon.”
