‘Freestyle Love Supreme’ to return to Booth Theatre this fall
The hip-hop improvisational show is back on Broadway from October 7.
After an acclaimed engagement in 2019, Freestyle Love Supreme will return to Broadway this fall. Freestyle Love Supreme begins performances at the Booth Theatre on October 7, running to Jan. 2, 2022. Find out more about Freestyle Love Supreme tickets on Broadway here.
Freestyle Love Supreme was created by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, Thomas Kail and Anthony Veneziale at the Drama Bookshop in New York City in 2003. The improvisational show sees performers riffing, rapping and creating musical numbers based on audience suggestions.
"We are thrilled to be back on Broadway and part of this theatrical community we love so much. The immediacy of our show, with its content driven by audience suggestion, makes it one of the rare shows that can speak to whatever is happening in the moment", said Thomas Kail.
The Freestyle Love Supreme company includes Andrew Bancroft, Tarik Davis, Aneesa Folds, Arthur Lewis, Kaila Mullady, Chris Sullivan and Anthony Veneziale. During the upcoming run, they'll be joined by guests including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, James Monroe Iglehart and Wayne Brady.
In a Freestyle Love Supreme review for New York Theatre Guide in 2019, "freestyle love supreme is here to spread love and positivity and, packed into a healthy 80 minutes, they are a supremely entertaining avenue for it."
Freestyle Love Supreme is at the Booth Theatre from October 7.
