How to watch the Drama Desk Awards this Sunday May 31 (Updated)

Hal Prince will receive the inaugural lifetime achievement award.

UPDATE: According to NY1 host Frank DiLella's Instagram, the virtual ceremony has been postponed. "At this time, our country and the world is suffering in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd. In New York and cities across the country and around the world, anger in the wake of his death has spurred protests that in some cases have been violent. I believe that it is important to step back and give time and space for the community's voices to be heard and amplified everywhere," DiLella wrote. A new date will be announced soon.

The show must go online, and this Sunday May 31, the Drama Desk Awards will be livestreamed at 7:30PM ET in a ceremony hosted by NY1's Frank DiLella. The event will benefit The Actors Fund.

The evening will feature an all-star cast of past award winners and nominees, including Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Tituss Burgess, Beanie Feldstein, Cynthia Nixon, Ali Stroker, Andrew Rannells, Ashley Park, Santino Fontana, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and more.

During the ceremony, the first Drama Desk Award for lifetime achievement will be awarded posthumously to producer and direct Hal Prince. A new awards statuette will also be revealed.

The event will air on NY1 and will be available to stream at NY1.com and DramaDeskAwards.com at 7:30PM ET on May 31.
