Anika Noni Rose stars in Lincoln Center Theater's revival of Uncle Vanya on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater from April 2.
Anika Noni Rose is best known for her voice role in Disney's animated film The Princess and the Frog as Tiana, the first African American Disney princess. In the film world, Rose also played Lorrell Robinsion in Dreamgirls, alongside Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson, and the film adaptation of Ntozake Shange's play For Colored Girls as Yasmine.
Rose's stage career earned her a Tony Award for her performance as Emmie Thibodeaux in Caroline, or Change. She later earned another Tony nomination for playing Beneatha Younger in A Raisin in the Sun, and her other Broadway credits include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Footloose.
On television, Rose has appeared in dozens of TV shows including The Good Wife, Little Fires Everywhere, and Private Practice.
