Yola

Yola stars as Persephone in Hadestown on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre beginning July 2, 2024.

Yola is a six-time Grammy Award-nominated musician, whose style encompasses country, soul, Americana, and R&B. Her best-known albums include Walk Through Fire — which earned her four Grammy nods including Best New Artist — and Stand for Myself, accounting for the other two nominations.

She is also known for playing Sister Rosetta Tharpe, "the godmother of rock n roll," in Baz Luhrman’s 2022 film Elvis.
