2023 Tony Award nominees announced: 'Some Like It Hot' leads

The nominations are out for the 2023 Tony Awards. On May 2, Myles Frost and Lea Michele announced the nominations for this year's Tonys ceremony, celebrating the best plays and musicals of the 2022-23 Broadway season. The 2023 Tonys take place on Sunday, June 11 at the United Palace.
Thirty-eight shows were eligible for this year's Tony Awards, all of which opened between May 5, 2022 and April 27, 2023. Of them, Some Like It Hot led the nominations with 13, including Best Musical.
Also leading in the musical category are Shucked, & Juliet, and New York, New York, all with nine nominations. The most-nominated plays are Leopoldstadt and A Doll's House with six, including Best Play and Best Revival of a Play, respectively.
