Ms. Anthony released the following statement:
"I am so thrilled to be joining a production filled with such powerful, talented women. Eclipsed is a stunning new play that demands to be seen, and to make my Broadway debut as a producer with it is an honor! I'm especially excited to join the production's efforts to bring thousands of young women to see the show through its 10,000 Girls campaign. What an extraordinary opportunity to pave the way for the next generation of commanding young women."The full list of producers now includes Stephen C. Byrd, Alia Jones-Harvey, Paula Marie Black, Carole Shorenstein Hays, Alani LaLa Anthony, Kenny Ozoude, Michael Magers, Willette Klausner, Dominion Pictures, Emanon Productions, FG Productions, Scott & Molly Forstall, and The Public Theater.
Synopsis: "Amid the chaos of the Liberian Civil War, the captive wives of a rebel officer band together to form a fragile community - until the balance of their lives is upset by the arrival of a new girl. Drawing on reserves of wit and compassion, Eclipsed reveals distinct women who must discover their own means of survival in this deeply felt portrait of women finding and testing their own strength in a hostile world of horrors not of their own making."
The cast of Eclipsed includes Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, who is making her Broadway debut as 'The Girl,' alongside Pascale Armand (Bessie), Akosua Busia (Rita), Zainab Jah (Maimi) and Saycon Sengbloh (Helena).
Creative team will be announced shortly.
